The National Elephant Center

First Habitat Poles.

Construction continues to progress rapidly! Let's take a quick look at what's going on.
The poles for the first habitat are all in the ground.  Our construction crew developed a very efficient process that pumps the cement through the pole hole auger as it comes out of the ground. The pole is then put in place immediately.

Barn Interior

The barn interior piping is also progressing well. Nearby, the keeper work center is sided and painted, and waiting for the metal roof to arrive this week.

Construction appears on pace for an early January completion date. Thanks for your interest in our progress - we'll continue to keep you posted.
