A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

The African elephant at top was Emily.
The elephants leaving the Big Top in the middle picture led the payoff float.
That's Anne Mace again I think riding the elephant after finale. The finale that year was "U.N." hence the blue. I guess we were still naive enough to think the UN would bring world peace. In any case, the main feature of the finale, beside the cross mount, was unfurling huge images of Dwight Eisehower as cadet, general, and president. Can you image? What would people say today? A sitting-Republican-president! I miss the '50s.
