Ad from a Carl Hagenbeck sale's list, elephant and "bicycle" 2,500.00 year unknown. I believe John Cuneo paid 10,000 for the "trike" he had built for Tyke/Mike and later used by Nicolas. The big question is "why?" This is probably the most absurd behavior ever taught to an elephant, next to a "baby buggy", making them look stupid. If it was done as far back as 1885, why in the world had training skill's not advanced beyond this in the 1980's?
