Attached is the original configuration of
the America. This is on the Barnum & Bailey Circus. The Asia
tableau was built the same way and then had the upper half added years
later. The America had been on the Cole Bros. Circus for a couple years before
the calliope unit was ever installed in it. Once the Calliope and steam boiler
were installed, the openings had to be made for ventilation and still be
esthetic.
