The "Immature" childlike mentality of an animal activist looking for something. If it's not there, make it up. Even if it is wrong......

Lions being forced to squeeze through bars

Lions being forced to sit on stools

'On this website there are a series of pictures taken at Ringling Bros. Circus a few years ago. The two above caught my attention by how they were labeled. Some one want to tell this genius, know it all activist what these animals are. I won't be kind!!!!!! Additionally this "wisdom" was printed at the bottom of the page:'

"Here are some photos I took at the Circus on Thursday Sept 8th at the Rose Garden. The tickets were donated to us by the way, we would never pay to see animal turture. During the show, the animals were wheeled out in tiny cages in the dark, while fancy lighting and performers distracted the audience. MEANwhile on the opposite side the animals were released out of the cages to perform their stupid human tricks that obviously did not come naturally to them. Throughout the show, the abusers used whips and prods to force the animals to perform. The abuser said to the audience, "think of my whip as merely an extension of my arm". At one point, the lion growled back the abuser and you could tell it was mad, but too frightened to react defensively, probably because it knew it would mean more turture later. This made me think, "If this is what Ringling/B&B are doing to the animals in front of the audience, what they are doing to the animals behind the scenes, and why are people paying to have their children see this?" Is that the right message to be teaching to your children? That its ok to abuse and torture animals for entertainment, not to mention kidnap this beautiful animals from the natural habitats in the wild"

'Princess(if you are a female activist, it's appropriate. If you are not, it is still appropriate) let me explain something, " At one point, the lion growled back the abuser and you could tell it was mad, but too frightened to react defensively" the only time they act defensively is if they are frightened. They are never "too little frightened" to react defensively. If they are frightened as you seem to think, they will react defensively. They don't think about what may be coming. Now, the moment, is all that is on their mind. Count on it.........'

What an un-educated and ungrateful JERK!!!
Maybe he should have been put in the cage to straighten out the things that he found bad.

Bob,
I don't know about ungrateful, but most assuredly not the sharpest tack in the box.

Ungrateful in that he didn't even pay to see the show. The least he could have done was thank someone for allowing him to see the show for free.

Bob,
Got it. There were also photo's on the site of Sascha Houcke in the ring with 4 elephants and 4 Fjords stating that the animals are forced to work in a small area, while Carson and Barnes new web site is touting that "For the most part, our animals spend most of the day eating, sleeping and socializing with other animals. Our elephants do not train or rehearse while on the road. Their(elephants/animals) performances last only a few minutes each day." Is C & B saying that exercise is good or no good?

They go on to state, "Circus elephants generally live 62 to 70 years, which is even longer than zoo elephants. Some think this is because of the daily activity and mental stimulation of performing." Is "daily activity" the "few minutes a day" mentioned above? Can any historian tell me how many elephants have been in the circus in the last 70 years, and how many have lived to be 62 to 70 years old?

Q: What are the traveling conditions for the animals?
C & B state that "Our jumps are between 45 and 100 miles in length." Does that make for "good traveling conditions" while another show which must travel longer between dates "is not so good traveling conditions?"

They also mention that "Every traveling species has custom-made traveling semi trucks!!!!" Give me a break. In transporting horses, I have seen "custom-made semi trucks complete with closed circuit monitors. Pig iron doesn't make for a custom semi truck.

Your thoughts, Bob or anyone else?

In contracting their elephants out, do they have stipulations that they only work in a 100 mile radius of Hugo?
