Bertram Mills Circus had the "New Mills type cage" in 1962. If you go to my Albums on Facebook, Early years in England part TWO, you can see a photo of it with Bela Roucka's Jungle Phantasy.(Tigers, pumas, leopards & panther)

Sue,
How are you? While I appreciate your "enthusiasm" for Bertram Mills :) as well as Raffie's for Togni, the pull up cage has been around since 1949 at least.
In this case I was referring to what is known and used world wide in zoo's as "Carlos Mesh."

If folks want to view some incredible circus history, befriend world renowned Sue Lenz, 2010 Ring of Fame inductee along with her assistant Rudi :), on facebook.

My best to Rudi,
