A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Wade,
for some reason I cant enlarge these two pictures. But am I right in saying, that there is a Chimp riding the elephant behind Roman
Bjorn.
Bjorn,
The pictures are only one size, sorry. Yes, that is a chimp. It may have been his father Hugo's chimp. Quite common, "back in the day," we had elephant riding chimpanzee's at Jungle Larry's named Clark and Mark. Geez......
Wade
whoops I forgot about that, but I always thougth that his father only traind one chimpansee act in the 1950's, but what happend to Romans black rhino and elephant act, did he ever worked them in a show?
Bjorn
Bjorn,
This wasn't a chimp from Hugo's act, but I recall him having a chimp after he retired from Ringling Bros. I had forgotten about the rhino, but I believe Roman worked it with an elephant at Busch Gardens. Does anyone else recall?
Wade
