Rumor's are that Carson and Barnes had a new top made this year by the Vasques Company out of Texas that arrived with a pot load of problems and it has been sent back. This is a picture of the Carson and Barnes show in Valley Falls, Kansas. Note the "crowd" in the general admission seats. What a shame. I wish the Bird's who are fine, fine people the best of luck.

I heard it was the Kelly-Miller show than put up its new tent for one day and had to send it back for 'adjustments'. It is not scheduled for re-erection until the 2012 season. Dennis Younger
Dennis,
Kelly-Miller and also Carson & Barnes.

Looks like quite a hike from the back door - and, do those lights look like they're on fire?
Seems odd Carson and Barnes would spring for another new tent considering their financial position. Didn't they just erect a new one last year but still carry two down the road all season?
Dennis and Radar,
You are both correct. I was given the wrong information. It is Kelly-Miller who had to send their tent back to Vasquez. Which makes this set up on "America's only 5 Ring Circus, Under the World's Largest Big Top" even sadder.

Kind of an odd comment from Radar, considering that's exactly what KM did
Anonymous,
If nobody had asked that question by tomorrow morning, I was going to. Odd statement indeed for Radar to make.
Wade
Why is it odd? The new KM tent was set up, it was not made correctly, so it was sent back to the factory. Completely different than C&B.
Radar,
How is it completely different?
Wade
Because they hauled two tents down the road for more than a season?
Radar,
Is it uncommon to haul more then one tent? Vargas did for a couple of seasons, and Aguilar did when they had their new tent made. They currently haul two identical menagerie tent's.
