Coacalco, Mexico

This is the main church in Coacalco located on the grounds of the Palacio Municipal(Municipal Palace) which is like our city hall. One Saturday evening about 2 weeks ago, I heard booming in the distance and looking up to the mountains over a white dome I noted puffs of smoke. I found a cab, and pointing to the puffs of smoke asked if he could take me there. I arrived at stunning church built in 1789 and some sort of ceremony, which is why they were shooting some sort of large hand made "bottle rockets" into the sky. It started with a procession coming up the street into the church yard, and being greeted at the door of the church by the priest, and proceeding up to the alter where they placed a glass box with the virgin inside at the alter and the service proceeded. I stayed for the whole service, but had no idea what it was about as I could find no one who spoke English.
