Update--January 11, 2011 American Showmanship and Pride

"American Showmanship and Pride!!!!": Click link

I want to keep reposting this link from January 11, 2011 so that it doesn't get "lost" as we move one. I will try to do it occasionally, in the hopes that there may be additional insight. The comments to this point have been nothing short of brilliant and very insightful, with the exception of the expected "anonymous" which I put through to illustrate the ignorance in the world. I shouldn't think the only issue is in Australia and North America, regardless of the fact that they were the only ones "weighing" in on the issue. It would seem that it is grand peaches and cream in the rest of the world, and if that is the case, please share the reason for your continued success.

Folks often wrongly assume that the strength of a blog is dependent on "comments." That is not a fact. The strength of a blog is depend on the number of "hits" or people going to the blog, not just random mistaken hits, but "regular hits" which is a return of 3 or more times a week as ip address's indicate. I am proud to say we have 320 folks returning 3 or more times a week from 8 different countries.

I was asked in a private email "what was your most popular posting, the one that got over 60 comments?" The answer is no, the "most popular" meaning the one that the most people looked was this one Merlin--registered name Orpheo with 17 comments, but more importantly 1, 374 "hits" to date in which it was read/looked at.

A blog strength/popularity is not judged by comments, it is why nasty ones are sent to the incinerator. A blog strength is judged by "return hits" of which we are averaging a very respectful 62.7% thanks to the 32o return hits a week.
