A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Croc house looks like the old Seven Seas Pavilion at Brookfield Zoo. Maybe they figured crocs are cheaper to keep than dolphins.
Jim,
Agreed, but it is one thing to sit in something like this to watch a show, and an entire other thing to look at a bunch of crocs sunning. You have to really wonder what is on people's minds when they build something like this as an animal habitat. At least the grand, beautiful old "mausoleum/History Museum" zoo buildings attempted to replicate the architecture of the area in which the animal came. I advise every zoo to keep a close watch and tight rein on their architectural/Design staff. Long after they are gone, their creations are going to be the zoo's white elephant problems. LOL

looks like a stage for one of the head in the mouth shows that always seem to end badly and onto Animal Planet
