And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. I saw this great model a few months ago at Baraboo. I understand that revenue shortfalls mean there will be staff shortfalls also.
Never-the-less I was shocked at seeing the poor condition this display was in. Most of the overhead display lights were burned out and the glass was in need of a few gallons of Windex.
The buttons that allowed visitors to activate the moving displays were covered over with pieces of wood.
As far as I could see none of the figures or wagons were harmed but the tents were a bit saggy and needed a good tent crew to tighten ship.
Here is a good opportunity for someone to volunteer. Dennis

At least covering the buttons over with wood was an effort. When I was at Baraboo in 2006 only one of the buttons worked. There were few light's then also, and it sure projected a dreary scene. Maybe it had been turned into an "interactive display" by then, foretelling the future?

Of all the circus models I have seen over the years, the display of the mired wagon being pulled out of the muddy lot ranks at the top. You will remember it is right near the Zweifel circus. Between 3 and 4 feet long it can keep me peering in the case until my friends or relatives (not necessarily the same people) have long been satisfied and have moved on. That one also I would like to see better set off with different lights. I was lucky enough to see the Tibbals masterpiece when it was still at CWM when I did some work there. For that one all light sockets had workig bulbs. Dennis
