Carlos Farfan diamond weave zoo cable, which started as the Hawthorn net cage.

Nocturnal House, Artiz Zoo Amsterdam

I could post literally thousands of photos of Carlos' diamond weave mesh being use around the zoo world, from South American, to Europe, to Asia, to North America. I would bet at least 75% of the world's zoo's have at least one exhibit enclosed with the mesh.

Rob,
Thank you. Artis is one of many historic zoo's in Europe, recently undergoing "face lifts". It thrills me to see them retain the beautiful old architecture and "work around it." There is a new book out called "Zoos of the World", a two volume set whose asking price is $680.00. I am saving my money for the book, that I hope will be published some day called "Architectural Grandeur of the Zoo World," picturing/documenting each and every building, with fold out blue prints and plans of course, of every building that has been built to house and display zoological wonders. No animals, just structures, buildings, and houses.

Rob,
For most of my life. Folks who got on this "blog boat" half way through the journey have missed some good stuff back in the archives. For example type vintage in the search bar(for all you smart ass's that will not take you to old pictures of me, so shut up!!!) it will take you to some places we have already been, and will be going back to one day.
