A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Just visited the old place -- that seems to being just fine without me. The ZOO sculpture has been move to the South parking lot so it can be seen on I-64 (Hwy 40 if you're from STL). The lot itself is being remodelled with plants and trees and some great animal sculptures. Also a pedestrian bridge crosses over Wells Dr., much safer.
Lots of great exhibits and for a fairly northern facility, great horticulture. As the Centennial exhibit in the old elephant house points out -- the Zoo has been a leader in many different eras.
