1934 Worlds Fair in Chicago

I was told one time that someone else started out working this act, but then Beatty, who was working a polar bear act at the time, was brought in to continue with the act for his "big" break. Can anybody confirm that story, and is this Beatty in the photo, or someone else?

The act was presented by Alan King, don't know if he was the trainer. Bill Johnston had an article in Bandwagon several years ago about King, Bert Nelson, and Jules Jacot. I'm just hoping my memory of that article is correct.
