In the photo above is my Uncle Ralph Burck, my father's oldest brother. As long as I knew him he always had two "personal" horses. Always mares, one a chestnut with 4 white socks and a blaze, and one a dapple grey. They were always named the same name, the chestnuts were named Bird, and the greys were named Lady.
