A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Thanks Wade. I'd seen bits of their act before but it was great to see the whole routine. They do the basics but they do "all" the basics well and with some unique twists -- like the barrel with the ball balance. Nothing new but they do it pivoting the barrel. Comparing them to Roby Gasser it's apples and oranges. The Duss act is more traditional with four California sea lions, more energy than Gasser's Patagonians, but they work quickly. The dog was cute -- wonder if it could do a log roll on a sea lion or hang on a perch balanced by a sea lion? I was expecting a flashier finish trick but I'd still give them an "A". I've seen photos of their set-up, big pool and all, again first-rate.
Jim,
Very gracious. Folks will have to read between the lines. LOL
