CS Garcia was known more for his beautiful spade bit's and rowled spur's(below) then for his "Parade" saddles. The saddle above(which sold for 5,000.00 in 1980) is a good representative of his superb work, and his saddles were more "usable and functional" then a parade saddle which was seldom used for work. I am the proud owner of a pair of E Garcia sterling silver spurs, complete with jinglebob's, fancy Mexican rowel, with sterling silver WB initials on the arch of the spur strap, with just enough rust, slobber, and sweat on them to give the impression I know what I am doing.

Mr. Burck all i can say is what a great collection of saddles and as for your Garcia items how can anyone not admire the art work in it . Now as i sit here writing in front of me is a Garcia made around early 50s to be exact 1952 and i so proud of it although we own horses but has never being on one . as dubious person as me i have taken my saddle to saddlerys and just show it and see what they think of it with the results as thats a Garcia saddle where did you get it and more then once being told how much you want or how much you pay for it .I am not sure if you are familar with the name Haythorn ranch but some time ago they had a sale and bingo the rest is history and sits in my library . thank you for sharing your pics and making me aswell as my wife druel on such pieces . Cleanraul ps. i have a dear friend in Casa grande AZ. that owns a nice collection of Garcia bits .
