A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Wade,
Absolutely beautiful. By chance do you know what they are using the property for now?
Amy
Amy,
It is on the grounds of Rhodes University.

G'day Wade,
Actually the zoo in Cape Town was still open in July of '77. I was on a ship heading to Australia to work for a year and we stoppeed in Cape Town and I headed to the zoo for a visit and took several photos.

Wayne,
Was the whole zoo open or just the lion den? The small bird section was supposedly quite spartan. Do you recall what they had for birds on exhibit?
