An accident occurred at the Moscow Zoo: an elephant killed a zoo employee. The accident occurred when the animal was being loaded in a special machine to send it from the zoo to Spain.
The elephant treaded on the woman, and she died from injuries.
Law enforcement authorities have classified the incident as an accident, they were deciding on whether to classify it as a criminal case.

This article is from 2007. A male and two female Africans were to be transferred to Spain. The male died under controversial circumstances before it could take place. The females left for Bioparc Valencia in October 2007, The Moscow Zoo now houses 1.3 Asian elephants (including a six month old calf).
