A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Is this a current photo?
Very good. With the yellow color the car is reminiscent of the RBBB stock cars in 1944-47, as well as back in the 1920s though that's futher back than my days.
Richard,
I am not sure how old it is or isn't. The Krone railroad cars is something that is hard to find pictures of or anyone to talk about.

i am guessing the picture is taken somewere in the late 80's or early 90's, the big African standing in the door is Laila she was given to an Italian zoo in 1996 were she died that same year. also in 1997 or 1998 Krone moved from railroad to roadtransport. Last thing i heard was that the railcar is standing at the former studfarm Wessling.

Bjorn,
Great information. Thank you. That's more than I have learned about the Krone rail cars in 20 years.

Wade,
gald that i could help, it just thought of something, i believ that Krone made the move from rail to road transport when Patricia Zerbini was in charge of the Krone elephants.
