A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Come on mate - be fair. These are old photos and circus animal husbandry methods have advanced in leaps and bounds over the years, as have zoo methods and probably even Arabian horse procedures.
I never could understand the rhino in the trailer 24/7 but the rhino as on Barum and now Krone is acceptable to me.
We're not sweeping history "under the rug", we're looking at what used to be, comparing it with what we've got now and looking forward to see what we can achieve for our animals in the future.
Steve,
There is only one industry that can't seem to understand why. We run old photo's, which is historical for learning on most every thing. You couldn't understand a rhino in the trailer 24/7, but a lot could. That was, and in a sense still is the problem.
