FINAL TRUMPET--Book Review from John Goodall

I have just finished a book - FINAL TRUMPET - by Karl Lenker, retired Lt. Col USAF, retired fighter pilot and combat veteran (Bosnia). He is a retired pilot for Delta Air Lines. This is his first book. In retirement Karl flies lifesaving EMS rescue missions, chases offshore race boats for TV and does television and movie shoots all in helicopters.
Karl's novel is about rescue, romance and revenge. A newly married couple honeymooning in Kenya are attacked by elephant poachers. He is killed and she is kidnapped. Their fathers who served as Army Rangers in Vietnam decide to hunt down the poachers. The novel is "fiction-as-realism" at its beast. Facts and location have been painstakingly researched. The characters and episode is either based on actual events or composites of real people and true stories. You will better understand the plight of the elephants in Africa.
If you like to read mystery stories, this is the best. Karl has an in depth knowledge of elephants and the poaching problems. A portion of the proceeds of the book will be donated to organizations committed to protecting elephants around the world.
I received the book at a signing in Florida. It was published by Tri Mark Press, Boca Raton, FL 33431.
