Banderillas--Unchanged for centuries

Is it a much different designed implement for moving a part of an animals body away from pressure, then an elephant hook or ankus? Note is always flopping and not "stuck". It isn't designed to penetrate deep. Only apply a constant pressure under the skin. I have seen a number of elephant hook "flop" the same way, when it is jerked from someones hand. Anybody who has been around elephants for any lengh of time, care to dispute that statement? Only difference is the direction. Ankus brings(pulls) it too you, and the banderilla takes(pushes) it away. When the head is lowered, the cape lines the body up straight(pulls it) for the Estoque(curved sword used for penetrating the lowered neck. Done properly, the bull dies in 2 sec. Done improperly, the lungs are pierced, and the animal bleeds to death with takes longer, and a smaller dagger is used to stop the suffering immediatly. Done real bad, and bone is hit, which can dislocate a matadors shoulder. In the last two cases, he is booed, and normally leaves in shame. The art does not revere the bandits or incompetent participants. They have what is called a standard.
