JIm Alexander mentioned in a past comment that Mr. Vierheller really liked Chimpanzees. Do you suppose? It looks like he likes Chimpanzees, like a junkie likes crack. But if the picture below say's anything, he sure let Orangutans have their way with him.

Vierheller was known for sharing a cigar with the orang and sharing a Budweiser with Phil the gorlla. I saw a old photo in a zoo album with a chimp "relaxing with a fag (a cigarette).

The old school director/keeper seemed to be real people, not mortals playing God which seems to be the norm today.
