I encourage you to occasionally check out British Author Jamie Clubb's site, which is listed in the side bar at the right. There is a great thread about Alfred Court Trainer Damoo Dhotre, plus Jamie has written some brilliant statement's about the difficulty of "sifting the wheat from the chaff", when attempting to write a truthful/factual account of an incident/individual with a circus history. Possibly the fact that Jamie is a "generational" and has been around it his whole life, is what has made him very dedicated to the fact's in the writing of history. For any fans or individuals, interested in a "factual account" or for any would be "circus" author's, I encourage you to send for a copy of his book, THE LEGEND OF SALT AND SPICE. I eagerly await some day, his father Jim Clubb's book about Alfred Court, and with Jamie "fact checking" it, we can assume it will be valid and not a fairytale. LOL

Hi Wade,
Thanks for the kind words. I am glad you like the blog. I love the very apt sketch too! The famous science fiction author Douglas Adams once said "Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" I love allegory, myth, legend, tall stories and so on, but I respect their place and use my knowledge of them to alert my senses when I am sifting through anecdotal evidence.
