Royal Canadian Mounted Police

I have wondered why the RCMP was not represented at some of the horse shows as the other military units from around the world are, so I looked for examples of their units. The tape above is the first one I found, and I thought this can't be the what they are, and had to search for a better example. This is the funniest thing I have seen in a long time, and only a few(Madame Col. Olds Rossi, Col. Herriott) will find it as hysterical as I did. You have to hit the ground and get hurt a few times to really develop a "proper sense of humor." Watch as the charges starts and the trooper gets "bronced" out of the irons. Although he can't breath, he gathers up his Dudley Do Right hat and lance. More unconscious then conscious, close to fainting he runs to the Commander and "reporting for duty, Sir" proceeds to start looking for Steel Heart amongst all those black horses( where are you, you sob. I'll kill you when I find you) He still hasn't gotten his wind back, and his eyes won't focus, so he almost mounts the Commanders horse, assuming the one without a rider is Steel Heart. Watch as he has to be directed in the direction of Steel Heart, and he still looks at every horse, because he is not sure. If you concentrate on him after he is remounted, and they gallop of you will see the horse hump up again. I'm guessing they had a schooling session before the horse's were put later in the day.
Below is a little better idea of what The Canadian Mounted Police are about.

Wade, I really liked some of the formations in the last of the three videos.

Mary Ann,
They are more of a drill team/exhibition riding, with not a lot of precision of the other "military" schools.

Mary Ann,
Here is a link from a private email that may have other information:

Unfortunately the videos don't begin to do justice to the RCMP Musical Ride. Charges are crowd pleasers but the formation drills are actually impressive. Some of the picture on the Musical Ride site give a better idea. I'm sure there's video of the wagon wheel etc somewhere.

Wade, thank you. I fell in love with this kind of stuff when I lived in the Washington DC area years ago.
