On the subject of "handmade one of a kind" works of art.

When I was on Ringling in 1986 my son Eric was 6 (he is now 29), and he found this picture and wanted to color it for me so I wouldn't miss being in the circus when we left in 1987. He came to me and said, "what color of costume should I make?" I told him, "make the blue one with the gold eagle and stars." He said "should I make the tiger white like Tony or orange like Rajah?" I said "make it orange",(I wanted to keep him busy, as I was reading. LOL) He said, "what about the white tigers?" To which I replied, there is only one tiger in the picture, so we can't have both." He said, "is there such a thing as a white lion?" I said, "they think there are, but they are not sure." He said, "do you have a picture?" I took my copy of THE WHITE LIONS OF TIMBAVATI off the shelf and gave it to him and he went to his room to color the picture. This is what he gave me 23 years ago. The red dots on the blue costume are the stars, because as he said, "gold didn't show up good." The blue streaks on the elbow's are the wrist cuffs that were part of the costume. Note what color he colored a "white lion" after looking at pictures in a book, with no advance self serving paper, just a child's honesty and innocence, that a million dollars worth of publicity can't buy. LOL
