A Zoo Legend?

J. Lear Grimmer was involved in the founding of the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago and worked there as Assistant Director, and was later appointed Assistant Director of the National Zoological Park, in 1958.
These photos were from the estate of J. Lear Grimmers best friend. He had penciled on the back, "America's most famous zoo legend and celebrity!!!!!" You gotta love friend/family paper.
