A Zoo Legend?

J. Lear Grimmer was involved in the founding of the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago and worked there as Assistant Director, and was later appointed Assistant Director of the National Zoological Park, in 1958.
These photos were from the estate of J. Lear Grimmers best friend. He had penciled on the back, "America's most famous zoo legend and celebrity!!!!!" You gotta love friend/family paper. LOL It can elevate your law enforcement career from Sheriff of Hazzard County, Ky to Director of the CIA in as much time as it takes to tell the tale. If Quarterback Joe Montana tells you Dan Marino was one of the greatest passers in the history of the league, and Parking Attendant Freddy Swartz tells you he wasn't near as good as Bart Simpson, who are you going to believe? Welcome to circus animal training history. Fortunately Joe Montana and Dan Marino have more then self serving jackpot's and photos to valid. They also have a thing called "record books." They are pretty conclusive.
