He was for many years and momently is with the little Belgium Circus Malter. I saw his act already 20 times nothing special the dogs do some great tricks but not an amazing act.

Thomas,
I am hoping as you learn more, you become that perceptive and opinionated with cage act. If he was a cute blond would it have been better? Will he become better, different then what it is if he is on Monte Carlo or a small show or if his daughter is a cute brunette.

Thomas,
I think you are a very intelligent, persistent young man, and I respect that. You like the circus very much, especially the wild animal acts. That is great because young people are the future of anything.
I have seen a couple of blog where you and your friends list what are your favorite animal acts and who are your favorite trainers. That again is great, as open debate/discuss is very educational. Because you and your friends are young, and have not seen many of the trainers you discuss, how do you decide or chose who is your favorite. Do you use a criteria or some other method of choosing.
I am interested because I find your devotion to the art of animal training very admirable, and encouraging that there will be young men and women like you for the future.
With respect,
Wade

I choose my favorite acts on criteria of news papers people who saw the act, pictures, tapes and also based on acts that I saw and I find great I really like Martin Lacey and Alex Lacey. I also found the act of the Togni tigers that was presented by Hans Suppmeier great! I have also many circusbooks and program's with pictures, criteria and were they describe the act. On these all I choose my favorite acts. My favorites are Alex Lacey and his group, Marin Lacey, the James Clubb lions, James Clubb leopards, Hawthorn tigers and Gunther Gebel is also amazing! I think there are also many wild animal act wich I a not acquainted with. It's very difficult to explain for me in English I hope you understand.

Thomas,
You explained yourself very good. And your English is very good. And getting better in the short time we have been friends.
You don't want to take newspaper articles, magazine articles, and other sources of information to serious. They are invited to shows and their job is to write a good report. A story by a theater critic or somebody like that is an excellent source. Interviews take for what they are. A self promoting interest story.
I was just given a video of my first Hawthorn tiger act, the one that was on Ringling and went to Europe. I wish your systems were like ours, as I would send you a copy when I had time to recopy it.
Regards,
Wade

I will admit that I am not particularly fond of the Fischer act, although he is certainly a great showman. He's in the first (meaning Dec/Jan) at Kronebau this winter.

Wade, I think you know a lady who would love to have a copy of that video more than almost anything.

Mary Ann,
Yes I do. And even though she is my mother she has to wait until I get it copied. It is a tape taken in 1979 at Houston during the "old" Texas Dates by Herta. Tony, Frosty, Bagherra, Ika, Ari, 8 roll overs, hind leg walk, 16 sit up, shoulder carry out of the cage and around the track with Targa, blonde hair, before the dreams vanished and all. It is a bit "yellow" and "blurry" but they all look wonderful. There were 4 copies of the tape, two have been lost, and I don't know where the third is.

John,

Wade, don't tease. With all due respect to your mother, I wanted the four minutes of you on the 116th edition so bad that I waited months for it, and finally got it through an interlibrary loan from a library in Virginia. If you are having copies made, would you have one made for me please?

Mary Ann,
With all due respect, a proper grovel should produce a scrapped on the floor nose, with some of that Mecca action.
