ok ..so there was someone there who could take pictures..but not help him? and what the f was he doing in there? point and click? how disgusting! and disturbing!

Rebecca,
I have seen the bravest souls freeze up in these types of situations, and this was the public. I have seen "trainers" freeze in the cage, and almost let an animal get killed, and on more then one occasion I have had to run in and get the animals apart.
In this case the conclusion is that the man was committing suicide in an unconventional way. Also if you look at the exhibit, it was a long way down through a water moat, and I don't think that would have given you time to do anything. It would have been to late.

Of all the animals at the zoo to pick. When you watch the video, and look at these photos, you see they aren't even trying very hard. Almost like they didn't want to but he left them no choice. They aren't tensed up, no ears back teeth showing, for gods sake they even stopped to look around a few times. I would bet this was their first shot at live prey.
