A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Wade, nice white tigers! Probably from Stukenbrock? Is this the same group we have talked about before?
Mary Ann
Mary Ann,
They went to Stukenbrock, but I am not sure if that was their origin. Yes, this is the group we have discussed. It was presented at Monte Carlo in 1998 and got nothing, and another White tiger act in 1999 went head to head with Martin Lacey Jr's lion act and got nothing, plus acts with white and gold tigers performed at Monte Carlo and got nothing. It wasn't until 2005 that the White tiger act we reviewed won a Silver Clown. It has been suggested that by 1998, folks were tired of White Tigers as they had been around since 1977, but that there was a resurgence of interest in 2005.

The white tigers were: Mohan, Shiva, Kismeth and Jasmin
The Snow-white tiger was Madras and the golden tabby was named Kashmir.
Kashmir was in the act until 1997. Just took out before Monte Carlo and Kismeth one of Gerd's favorites tigers died in 2001. Mohan, Shiva, Jasmin and Madras were bought to the serengiti park in Hodenhagen in 2001. All tigers came from Stuckenbrock
Top picture is Borra the masterthief just stealing someones watch or wallet. I remember the program surprisingly well. Also had Old Regnas, young Rebecca Siemoneit-Barum and Sacha Houcke Jr. in it.
