I have never seen something like this before with hitches. I wonder if these are Lipizzan mare's in the hitches. Amazing deal

Wade, obviously all of the spectacular equine videos are from the same show, if not the same performance. I am not copmuter literate like you and Buckles to figure out how to freeze frame some portion to try to identify the arena, the breed of horse, or the people. It was late in my career that I became involved with animals and I don't claim to be an expert but I know enough to appreciate quality. I was once fortunate enough to to try to drive an eight horse hitch at which I failed miserably except for some brilliant horses, was priveledged to be allowed by Gaylord Maynard to ride Bearpaw 4 and with his coaching managed to get through the entire dressage portion of the routine (in practice only, of course)and try my hand at bareback with the Hannefords. Several cat act experts allowed me to experience what it was like to be in the arena with the big cats, and I learned enough about elephants to know how not to get hurt from Rex, Buckles, Roy, Tommy, Gunther, and others like Kay and Pat - ane even being around you for brief periods. I learned enough to appreciate what I see. It is funny now in my old age that as a has been aerialist, I treasure my experience with the animals most. I guess you guys and your charges taught me compassion and passion more than my trapeze bar ever shared. Somehow I'm going to track down where these videos come from and try to find the performance.
That's pretty amazing! That arena didn't look very big and that was a lot of horses. Very nice driving!!
all the mundane things like throwing a flake of hay to a pony at night become a treasure when animals are no longer a part of your life.

Best driving exhibition I've seen. Wonder how many people realize just how much work went into that..
Thanks for posting it Wade.
Wade - those obstacle drivers have amazing control of their horses. It's amazing watching them fly through an obstacle course with a hitch like this. I have a couple of pictures from the World Clydesdale Show last year in Madison, WI where they brought 21 6-horse hitches into the arena and lined them up. Now that was a full arena.

What a trip! They are the masters of their discipline. Not for the weak of heart, I have a yellow streak running down my back but how marvelous. My only regret is that the video footage could have been higher to encompass all the intricate work or even better yet once in a while a camera view from the top. Great stuff and very impressive.
