There are a number of these "barn yard" acts in Europe. They just never have caught one here in America, and again I think suited only for a smaller format

A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

There is a Aussie guy on circuspace that has cows, I would sure like to see some pics, I'd like to know just what you can teach a cow..When I worked at the dairy we had a bull that could throw a person 100 feet, and you didn't even have to give him a cookie..LOL..
We had a Brehma bull that could clear a six wire fence too without a cookie. I think barnyard acts may do better in the midwest and rural parts of the country where people are used to seeing them and know how difficult they can be at times. The Silverlakes and Wanye Franzen both had some of these types of acts and they went over well. Hard to draw interest from someone that has contact with them only at Krogers.

Margaret - 4 Holsteins are worked over here on Circus Royale. They don't do much and the act is as slow as a wet week but city kids like it OK. It probably helps that there are not many animal acts in this particular circus.
Here regina is presenting the act of Karl-Ferdinand Trunk at Cirque d'Hiver in Paris, probably over the 2007-08 season.
