A valid Circus competition/festival has been debated many times, by many experts. There is even talk now of a Best O the Best Complete Circus competition. I thought my last competition/festival of judging the best Piaffe and Spanish Walk against a standard went well, so let's every body try this Monte Carlo knock off Festival. Most importantly, the "honor system" has to be adhered to as that is referenced as the most valid criteria for judging a Circus Awards Competition.
We will borrow these standards from other competitions:

Appeal

No ties. One best and 3 damn close. There is a framed proclamation from from John Goodwin as King Ralph for the others, so don't worry it will be worth their time. Now use the standards as listed, and your honor system, and give us 1 gold and 3 silvers

UPDATE
One of the judges is claiming foul. Questioning the validity of what is a act, and none of the other judges are being honorable. I will remind said judge, that CREATIVITY is the Gold Standard in a circus awards festival and that's what makes an act an act.
When the "competition" is over we will have a "Gala" awards presentation and you will see that the "honor system" does validate Circus Best O the Best, contrary to my beliefs.

I would like to remind said whinny judge that as the Director, I can not vote, and to imply that I am "hanging paper" for an act, implies that I am working the honor system. Stop it, or there will be no 1st Annual Best O the Best commemorative ball cap for you.

Not for nothing, but for any judges, who might not be sure, that beautiful champagne glass lady, is from a famous circus family, the Bougliones, and they have gotten many awards in the past. Not that it matters, I just thought it was interesting.

UPDATE
Judge cwdancingfool questioned whether she was qualified. That has never been an issue. It is about honor and truly following the standard all of you were given in your judge orientation booklet, which has the cute and charming and oh so wonderful Irina Bouglione on the cover.
Judge Mary Ann, will now give us a clinic in honor. So as not to appear as a brazen hussy she has pulled her silver vote for Mr. Olympia and has now cast it for the Chinese Acrobats.
Judge Margaret, after seeing the "gold standard" for creative costuming, has mentioned something about her "creative juices flowing", so she may take the honor system to a Boy Scout level, and change her vote.
Realizing we are in the House of Tigers, horses, and elephants, I am still a little surprised at the outcome of the voting after this first day of Festivaling.
Somebody see if Irina Bouglione needs anything, and tell that little honey to relax, she is doing just fine and the family Bouglione is so proud.
