This question has bothered me since I was 8 years old. Triggers sire is listed as Tarzan a Palomino stallion. Ken Maynard's Palomino stallion was also named Tarzan and had an Arabian sire and a American Saddle Horse dam. Could the same Tarzan be the father of Trigger? You will note Triggers dam is listed as only light chestnut. It has been argued that she had Belgium blood given his color and conformation. It has also been suggested that she had thoroughbred blood. As Palomino is not a thoroughbred color I doubt that, but the rare Cremelo does occur in thoroughbreds which may account for the color of Lt. Chestnut. I have always contended that his dam only give birth to one other colt, and that was Triggers half brother, Pegasus the winged stallion, and "holy mother dam" does not need a pedigree like other dam's. And don't try to convince me I am wrong. I have believed it since I was 8, and I can believe for the time I have left, thank you.

I believed Trigger ran like the wind, was the smartest horse in the movies, coming when Roy whistled, running to his rescue and outrunning any bad guys BROWN horses. My Mother was destined to see every Roy Rogers picture ever made and I was sure she was glad when television was born and Roy Rogers and Trigger came to our house. I was able to meet Roy Rogers at his museum one time and I told him that I was a real fan but that he didn't have one of his famous saddles presented. He asked which one was that and I said the American white with the red and blue stars complete with tapederos and matching bridle and martingale. He said that was true and he would have it displayed again. No, there will never be another Trigger for me thank you very much.
Dianne,
Not for nothing, but Fire Magic has that thing that Trigger had. It's called charisma. It's that indescribable deal that just makes you stare and think, my God. Magnum Psyche has it and you met one of his son's. You know what I am talking about, but you probably don't know how to describe it either.

Addendum to Dianne,
The deal I liked was when Trigger would open the gate and let himself out. Probably a lot safer for Roy that way, because you can bet Trigger was a "sugar baby." LOL
Wade
Yea, excect Trigger was most likely a "hit man" like Baby.
