Mary Ann, when you are done tooting the train whistle, you can hop on the "jungle bus" and go to the Forestry Center. As close to an honest to God safari as you can get, without going to Africa.

Wade, I just read that Portland will have lions again in an exhibit called "Predators of the Serengeti", which will also have cheetahs and caracals. Sounds like another possible future AZA exhibit winner. Those mixed-species mixed-environment exhibits are becoming popular. We saw "Range of the Jaguar" in 2005 in Jacksonville, which featured not only jaguars, but other South American species in a South American themed area. It was the AZA exhibit winner that year.
