I have always noted a "resignation" in contact animals from older acts that is not noted in modern times

Is this cat awake? Very odd posture...

Casey,
Very good, my friend. You must be learning. Analise an animal and his actions closely, particularly still photos. But with the advent of video there is so much more to learn.

Herr Seeth appears to have that look of "resignation" as well.

If he were as "resigned" as the lion, I suggest they would both be lying down.

Casey and Steve,
What has always appeared odd to me is that he is in an arena, that is obviously devoid of "props", in an era when a lot of props was the norm.

Looks like a squared arena - possibly in quarters????? Or a zoo - your favorite curved top arena walls are in evidence!

Could be zoo or WQ's judging by empty seats in background.Maybe just a promo pic snapped at an "opportune" time. The trainers look of resignation, maybe from squatting the 500lbs plus of dead weight.
