Now that Dianne and Jeannie have pretty much "gelded" me, I feel obligated to relay John Cuneo's Roy Rogers story. The Cuneo museum in Libertyville has a Stetson autographed to John from Roy one display. He signed it for a young John, the day he came out to Hawthorn Mellody Farms to tour the facility and dine with the Cuneo's. There it is. I'll just go ahead and crawl back under the bed, thank you.

Now, I will say any red blooded American kid raised on Roy Rogers and Trigger, the Samrtest Horse in the Movies, would know that this picture is not, not, not the real Trigger. Just for the record, must have been one of the stand-ins.

This Trigger must have been the local horse whispers mount...that way he could live for years going from horse expo to horse expo presenting the "real Trigger ridden by Roy Rogers, alas never mentioning that the horse was a stand in for the real deal.
Similar is with Shadowfax of the Lord of the Rings movie who are traveling around displaying the famous Gandolf horse....except..... the real Shadowfax died and this is an ugly stand in but never mind that's trivia that horse expo attendees are not interested in.
Wade - I haven't been through the Cuneo museum. Now I'm going to have to go just to see the Stetson.

It is downstairs in the room that used to be the servants bathroom/break room which is now exhibits relating to the Hawthorn Mellody dairy empire. They will probably leave you at your leisure, me they watch like a hawk, assuming and right so that I may try to snatch the said stetson. LOL Enjoy the mansion and history it is incredible.

It would have to wait for about a month before I had time. Are you sure you want my take? Good idea though. Possibly when they are watching me, I could distract them and you could get the stetson? I'll show you a side door before we go in.
