A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Wade, I didn't know until I cheated and looked in "Wonders Among Us - Celebrating 75 Years of the Detroit Zoo" that in 1931 when the train was new, it encircled the zoo. However, neighbors on the north side complained, so the route was changed to only run along the south and west sides, with loops and stations at each end of the line, at the northwest and southeast corners of the zoo. "Wonders Among Us" didn't say, but I remember that when I was a little girl, there was also a stop at the southwest corner of the zoo in the American section, for outbound trains only.
