A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Your blog is very creative, when people read this it widens our imaginations.
Bob Steele was one of my favorite western stars most likely because he was on TV a lot. I used to love the way he jumped on horses and did all the fancy riding. I of course tried it all jumping off the horses like I saw done in his movies....God it hurt! Little did I know that in later life I would marry Bob's stunt rider, Rex Rossi, the person who did all the fancy riding I so admired. Bob lived in the valley area in California and I was able to meet him before he passed away as he depended on Rex for many things in his later years. Rex was given Bob's 1964 mussel GTO red Pontiac convertible when he passed away. What a car but 4 miles to the gallon was not an option any longer.
Dianne,
Bob Steele was one of the top silent screen Cowboys. His horse was trained to do all of it tricks/behaviors by voice command instead of hand signals because of the silent venue. When they went to "talkies" you will note if you see one, that the chatters continuously to the horse as it unties him, or picks up his gun. As a young boy I almost maimed myself jumping out of the hay loft on my horse, or jumping on from behind. He almost kicked my head off one day when I was lunging him, and thought I would try to run and jump in the stirrup. That wonderful steed tolerated a lot of nonsense.
