Vintage Toledo Zoo--Walbridge Park, Toledo Ohio

Feline House. Note the similarities to Lincoln Parks Feline house. Zoo architecture tended to follow a "neighboring zoos" prior efforts. Below are the front gates.

Wade, the feline house is now the Carnivore Cafe, with tables and chairs set up so that people can eat in the old cages, quite a novelty. Also, the Broadway entrance is no longer the main entrance. We only use it when attending concerts in the evening at the old amphitheatre. There are many historic WPA vintage buildings. The parking lots and main entrance are on Anthony Wayne Trail, which bisects the zoo. There is a bridge over the highway to get from one side of the zoo to the other.

Mary Ann,
I was just getting ready to say that it was now the Carnivore Cafe. lol

The Toledo Zoo is one my favorite zoos.

Mary Ann and Logan,
As nice as I am sure the cafe is, I think the "remodeling" of the old like Lincoln Park has done is a more nostalgic way to go with the old buildings.

The Toledo Zoo has a superb Christmas display as well. I've seen it a couple times now when being home to visit my family.

Wade, Logan, Bob,
Are any of you as enamored of the white lions as I am? Sometimes they make me wish that I was a lioness. LOL

Mary Ann,
As I stated before, they never really struck my fancy, as I just don't believe they are a true "white" animal. I also don't feel deep inside that they have the same historical significance of the Rewa White Tigers.
