A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Wade, is this the Philadelphia Zoo's big cat house? If so, that area has been redone, but the big cat house still stands as the indoor bedroom area for the cats. Philadelphia spent $20 million to construct Big Cat Falls, which opened two years ago. It won the AZA Exhibit of the Year Award, and I was sure it would after we went to see it in September 2006.

Mary Ann,
Very good. I have not seen the Philadelphia Zoo since 1987, but have done a wonderful job of improving while still retaining the old buildings. At that time, the Gorilla exhibit was very suspect, but I tend to "over scrutinize" Gorilla exhibits.
Regards,
Wade
