A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

OMG!!!!!
did the lion and tiger ride at the same time orseparately?
Henry,
Solomon and Rajah rode separately. There wasn't room for all three of us. After we retired Solomon, I did an act with Bagheera and Rajah in which they both rode. I will post pictures of them as I find them. Henry, do you have any idea how much I idolized GGW!!!
Wade
wade - i certainly understand your idolizing gunther. when you entered circus life, he was certainly one of the most exciting performers in the business and with your love for tigers, and his love for tigers, it's a natural thing. and at that time, he was the best known wild animal trainer in the business. gunther was a natural hero for his generation, and was truly a great performer by anyone's standards.
Wade, were these pics taken in L.A.? And is that Mike in the background?
Margaret,
Yes. LA, at the great Western Exhibition Center. No, that is Larry Allen Dean. Mike came to work with me a couple of years later. He may be in some of the Ringling Photos.
