A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Wade, thank you for announcing this. I have not seen it before. but I understand that it was filmed by an amateur photographer. I very much admire the work of Dereck and Beverly Joubert. I own two of their videos, Lions of Darkness, and Eternal Enemies: Lions and Hyenas. My favorite scenes by far are when Ntchwaidumela kills the hyenas. How sad that the gorgeous male lions the Jouberts knew and loved so well all ended up as someone's trophies. I don't know if it was the Jouberts or someone else who did the study that found that the balance of power between lions and hyenas is tipped in favor of the lions when the male lions are involved.

Wade, another author that I greatly admire is Gareth Pattersom. Are you familiar with his work?
