Wade, these are Kanpur (snow white female) and Lucknow (striped white male), littermate siblings to Shirotan, the snow white male from Japan you posted not long ago. We saw Kanpur a few months before she died from skin cancer on her lower lip. She was very beautiful. Lucknow was the one who killed the keeper.

Wade, this exhibit is now occupied by three tigresses from Hawthorn. Carlita is the white one, and the other two are a pair of heterozygous sisters whose names I do not know.

When did they get them from Hawthorn? There is not Carlita on the records. Possibly the names were changed.

Wade, I don't know what year they came from Hawthorn, but the records of Paul's anonymous friend show that Carlita was born on July 24 1992, in Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada, to Yukon and Crystal. Her HC ISIS # is 327W. She had three white male littermates. I don't know anything about the two heterozygous sisters, but I believe that they are younger than Carlita. Hope this helps.

That makes a little sense. As I stated before, without stepping on toes, a lot of questionable things occurred after I left to go back on Ringling. Thats when the European influx started occurring, and a number of people who were just interested in a job, were agreeing with Mr. Cuneo, not knowing any better. He and I go through it to this day. When he says, "this is the way we have always done it," I have to say, "no, it isn't". That buffer was gone when there was just agreement because, "who knows". Crystal should have been in Europe unless she was sent back. That birth would have been to William Voss who took over the Cox act in 89. The mention of 3 male siblings, reminds me of hearing of 3 males that were isolated here for much of their life, and nobody could work with them. It may explain why the sister went to a zoo. I will say again, take those records with with an open mind.

Paul, that's true in a way. He never answered me when I wrote to him in 1996, and he still has never answered any of my questions, but always seems happy and grateful on the occasions when I have had information to add to the bottom of his charts. He didn't seem interested when we offered to update his death dates. I wonder why?

I knew somebody a few years ago who had nothing but "anonymous friends". What that meant was you never got to meet "them", but according to this individual, they always said she was right. LOL

That anonymous friend business sounds like God. Ever notice how for a lot of people, possibly most, God is an imaginary friend who thinks just like they do, in fact he's a mirror reflection of their mind, and he agrees with everything they think and say?

One of the "anonymous friends" of the individual I referenced, died 6 years ago, yet he confirmed one of her tales a year ago!!!! But she has wised up, and has gotten some new "anonymous friends". LOL

Have you heard of this gorilla named Leah, who lives in the Nouabale-Ndoki National Park in the Republic of the Congo? She was the first gorilla ever seen using a tool, and then she was the first ever observed engaged in frontal intercourse in the wild, with a gorilla named George. http://www.wcs.org/353624/gorillatoolkit I'm not sure which of the Congos that is, probably Congo-Zaire. PS I've never heard anyone say an unkind thing about Roy Rogers.

Yes I have heard of Leah. I also suggest if gorillas are as smart as we think, she would have thought twice about that "nooner" in the bush. Who wants that as you historical legacy? LOL

Wade-I guess she did'nt expect to be photographed. Does'nt this make her and George at least as smart as Pee Wee Herman though? As far as I know neither of them got arrested.

You must be Leah, "anonymous friends" who claimed later that the picture was doctored, and that Leah had been foraging all that day with them.

I was thinking, on the subject of Leah, that I recall reading in George Schaller's book The Year Of The Gorilla, that frontal intercourse was how the Columbus Zoo gorillas, which produced the first baby gorilla born in captivity, did it. Schaller never observed the same behavior in the wild, among gorillas.
