Marlin Perkins--Will add due respect, I will again suggest that it was easier to make an Animal hero, like Beatty in this era.

As much as I loved Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom and Marlin Perkins, I always identified more with Jim Fowler. It seemed like every time an Anaconda was dragging him through a swamp, or a Water Buffalo had a horn up his kester and was shoving him across the Savanna, Marlin was "supervising" from the safety of a tree stand a 100 yards away. Jim hosted the show for a while, and was a Master Falconer, and was always the "unsung hero"

Quite right Wade! We used to laugh everytime Marlin Perkins was broadcasting from the helicopter and we would hear something to the effect of "While Jim is in the water wrestling that huge, huge Anaconda, we'll enjoy a cup of Fresh hot Maxwell House coffee."
Jim was definitely the one to watch.

Bob,
Jim was building a zoo a few years ago in Georgia or South Carolina. I don't think it ever got off the ground. He did design one in Maryland a few years prior.
Best wishes,
Wade

He was doing some work with Tim Seegars near Fort Mill. I gave my tigers to Tim when I got out of the business. I really didn't know what all was going on but there is nothing open to the public that I am aware of around there.

Bob,
I am not familiar with Tim Seegars. Is he in the zoo business?
