James, Tepa, and Elaine Hall with the world famous Castle Bears

My dear friends the Halls. Jimmy was at Marineland in the early years doing half of the shows with his fabulous bear act, while Herta Cuneo did half. Jimmy was the one who gave Adam the nickname "Adam Bomb", and when I asked Jimmy to watch Adam while I worked, he would tell Adam, "you move, and I'll poke you in the eye." Jimmy, being single didn't care for kids that much. Adam was terrified of him. One night in a Chinese restaurant(imagine finding one of those in Canada) Adam was being a pest, wanting to try the "yellow sauce", I kept telling him no, "you won't like it." Finally Jimmy had with him, and said, "here now shut up, and gave him a spoon ful. Adam cried for 15 minutes it burnt so bad. In this case, Jimmy can not bring Adam back, if he doesn't work out. He know's full well what he is getting. LOL

Hello Wade,
I haven't been here in a few days. With your experiences throughout the world, I'm sure You'll keep this going for quite a while.
In all honesty, those of us that have never travelled outside of the US don't have the faintest idea of what ethics, training, care, facilities etc.are in other parts of the world.

PS: Casey! email me. I have some photos for you. fivetiger@marlboroelectric.net

Bob,
Welcome. I think it is a matter of being open minded enough to admit you may be wrong, and that something else may be better. After all it is about the animals, not what the world thinks of us. Come back again.

I'm wondering what the situation is in America with regard to the attendance of PETA-type groups at shows. Is the use of animals in circus objectionable only in good weather, and at weekends? That's the way it seems to be here in Britain (as discussed with a certain "well-known name" last saturady as we watched a peaceful "demonstration"!

So true. I do stand corrected. After I read your last email to me, I had to admit you were right 100%.

Hang in there.

John,
While some AR groups are indeed "radical" and off base, I have found that the most "radical" objectors of animal welfare were historically the worst offenders. I will always be saddened that the changes weren't initiated before the trouble started.
Regards my friend,
