Wade-Thanks for posting these amazing pictures. I know so many of these tigers by name. What year were you in Montreal?

I believe we were in Montreal in 1977. My hair wasn't blonde yet. As I mentioned a while back in reference to standing ovations. Montreal is where I got my first one. Very appreciative, sophisticated audiences.

Do you know on what dates you were in Montreal? I can look for a newspaper article on micro-film.
Do you mean that when I was in England looking at white tigers I could have stayed home and done the same thing?

How can you get too much of animals, regardless of where you are?

Paul,
No I don't know the exact dates. It was in the wintertime. John Cuneo almost got arrested as he wouldn't move the elephant truck from in front of a fire hydrant. It came real close when the called the Montreal police, "the Gestapo".

I wonder where I was. I think I spent the Summer of 1977 in England. I was there long enough to pick up an accent. If I had heard anything about white tigers being in Montreal I would have made a point of seeing them, that's for sure. I was home for the Winter. I did'nt see any advertising.

The winter of 76-77 and when I was in Montreal the white tigers were not performing. We still had the original Hawthorn act with the lion Solomon. Tony, Bagheera, Frosty, Baby, Kashmir etc. were left in California in preparation for the new act. I only had young Ika and Ari with me. I actually received, for which I am grateful a very nice following in Canada as the years progressed and give all my years at Marineland. There was massive press done from 1978 when the big act opened at Marineland.
I love Canada, growing up 100 miles south of Winnipeg, and miss it greatly.

All these pictures are great. Thanks for posting them. A lot of these tigers seem legendary, to me, but none more than Tony.
