A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

I think that Philadelphia Zoo's claim to be the oldest in America is disputed by another zoo. I forget which one.
Wade, the first picture is of the Big Cat House, which I have mentioned before is the centerpiece of the new Big Cat Falls, the AZA Exhibit of the Year award winner. Another distinction, not shared by too many other zoos, is that they have all seven species of big cat: lion, tiger, jaguar, leopard, snow leopard, cougar, and cheetah. All but the cheetah are housed at Big Cat Falls, where they have very nice exhibits.
